Version 0.9.0 is a smaller release this time around, but it introduces a frequently requested feature: GOG integration.
Alongside GOG support, this update includes fixes for Steam achievements, improved cover art handling in the library, and a dialog navigation fix.
🔗 GOG Integration
GameStacker now supports GOG as a game source.
You can sync your GOG library directly into GameStacker, browse your collection alongside games from other platforms, and launch GOG titles without leaving the interface.
If a game cannot be launched without elevated privileges, GameStacker will automatically relaunch it as administrator.
Known issue: Games launched as administrator cannot currently be closed by GameStacker. This will be addressed in a future update.
🎮 Library
- Improved cover art selection for stacks that contain games from multiple systems. GameStacker now prioritizes the largest available cover, preventing artwork from appearing smaller than expected in multi-system stacks.
🏆 Achievements
- Fixed an issue where Steam achievements would fail to load for certain games. In some cases, two games could share the same achievement IDs, causing conflicts. Achievement IDs are now generated differently to prevent duplication. Existing achievement data will be automatically cleared and re-synced to match the new format.
🔧 Fixes
- Fixed an issue where certain list items in the stacks editor dialogs would not receive focus correctly.
🙏 A Huge Thank You to Our Patrons
GameStacker's development is driven by our community, and we literally couldn't do this without the support of our Patrons. Your feedback and backing are what turn these ideas into reality. Thank you for being a part of this journey!
0.9.0 may be a smaller update, but GOG support opens the door for even more players to bring their full library into GameStacker. More integrations and improvements are already in the works.
